About Depth Paper
Depth Paper makes phone wallpapers at the exact native resolution of the screen they are for. You pick a device, a palette, and a seed; your browser renders the gradient and hands you a PNG that fits pixel-for-pixel. It exists because most wallpaper sites solve the wrong problem — endless libraries of images at whatever size the uploader happened to export — when the actual job is one image, at one exact size, that your phone has no reason to rescale.
What the site is built on
Your browser does the work. The site is a folder of static files. Rendering, previewing, and PNG export all run inside your tab; there is no server rendering anything and no account holding anything. The site's security policy blocks requests to every outside origin, so "nothing is uploaded" is enforced by your browser rather than merely stated — the maker keeps working with your wifi switched off, which is the strongest way to check the claim.
Seeds, not files. Every wallpaper here is reproducible from a visible integer seed. The same seed, palette, and size produce the same wallpaper on every visit and every machine, so a wallpaper's whole identity fits in a link. The gallery stores no images at all — each entry is a recipe rendered live by the same engine as the maker.
A device table with receipts. The resolutions behind the size charts and the maker's device picker come from one data table, in which every entry was cross-checked against two independent published sources before it shipped. The charts are generated from that same table rather than typed out, so the tool and the chart cannot disagree. New models join the table once their resolutions can be verified the same way.
Nothing here is anyone else's code. The site ships zero third-party code: no frameworks, no libraries, no external scripts, no font files, no trackers. Every line served is original, first-party work, which is also why the pages stay small and fast.
What this site is not
Not an AI generator. The gradients are deterministic mathematics, seeded and repeatable. That is a feature, not a limitation: an AI image can never be re-created exactly, and a Depth Paper wallpaper always can, from a seed short enough to memorize.
Not a copy of anyone's artwork. Nothing here reproduces, traces, or recreates any phone maker's built-in wallpapers, and the site hosts none of them. Everything you can render or download is generated by the site's own engine from its own original palettes.
Not affiliated with any phone maker. Depth Paper is an independent site. It has no affiliation, sponsorship, or connection with Apple, Google, Samsung, or any other device maker, and none of them have reviewed or approved anything here. Names like iPhone, iOS, Pixel, and Galaxy appear on these pages only as factual references to the devices people own — the honest way to say which screen a wallpaper fits.
The photo tools
Two pages accept a photo: the depth-effect checker and the icon tint matcher. Both read the photo inside your browser and nowhere else — it is never uploaded, and no copy exists outside your device at any point. Both also say plainly what they cannot check: your phone's own software makes the final call on effects like depth layering, so these tools measure what is measurable — size, placement geometry, contrast, color — and leave the rest honestly unclaimed.
Who runs it
The site is built and run by an independent developer, and it will be paid for by advertising on some pages. The two photo pages carry no advertising: a third-party script on those routes could read the photo on the canvas, and that is not a trade this site makes.
